How to remove the 'Continue Watching' title on Netflix

Do you want to delete the series or film from the ‘Continue Watching’ section on Netflix? Here’s how to do it on PC, Android and iOS.

Netflix is ​​built with several practical features designed to meet your viewing habits. One of them is the ‘Continue Watching’ section which automatically saves your position in the series and / or film, so you can take it from where you left right from your Netflix homepage.

Clear your Netflix viewing history

An easy way to get rid of showing off from your watch screen is to delete your Netflix viewing history. Note that you can only do this on a cellphone or on a desktop website – you can’t do this directly on a smart TV or streaming device. The process is a little different depending on the device you have.

How to delete your Netflix watch history on desktop

Open the Netflix website on your PC and complete the following steps:

  • Go to the top right of your screen and point your mouse to the down arrow on the profile icon, and click ‘Account’1
  • Scroll down, expand the profile you want to edit and click ‘View Activity’2
  • You will now see the latest things you’ve watched – find what you want to erase and navigate the circle icon with a diagonal line3
  • If you delete an episode of a TV series, you will have the option to ‘Hide Series’ which will delete the entire program from your watch list4

On Android, you can actually delete events from directly inside the application. Here’s how:

  • On the main homepage, scroll down to the ‘Continue to Watch’ section
  • Find the title you want to delete and tap the three-point button next to it
  • Select ‘Delete From Line,’ and then confirm your choice

How to delete your Netflix watch history on iOS

If you do this on iOS (or other systems besides Android) then you must log in to your account in a mobile browser – but you can do this directly from the application. Here’s how:

  • Tap the profile icon then tap ‘Account’ in the drop-down menu (or go directly to your account settings by clicking here)
  • Scroll down, expand the profile you want to edit and click ‘View Activity’
  • You will now see the latest things you’ve watched – find what you want to erase and navigate the circle icon with a diagonal line

Clear the ‘Continue Watching’ list by changing the profile

If you use a shared account and haven’t already done so, you might want to consider adding your personal profile to your Netflix account so that the ‘Continue Watching’ list is created for you.

You can get up to five different profiles on one Netflix account. If you want to create a new one, here are the basic steps you need to know:

  • Click on the profile button in the upper right corner
  • Select ‘Manage Profile’
  • Click ‘Add Profile’
  • Name your profile and set your preferences, such as pictures and whether you want to be filtered for children’s content, etc.

If you have a profile that you need to delete to make room, hover over the profile avatar in the ‘Manage Profile’ section and click the edit button. From there, you can delete the profile.
